Opposition created false perception to influence voters, says Ti

-

PETALING JAYA: Online voter sentiment is not an accurate reflection of the sentiment on the ground, says MCA spokesperson Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker.

“The Opposition has created a false perception to influence and excite the public that they will win the election, but on the ground voters are actually jaded at the rampant politicking that revolves around running down Barisan Nasional rather than discussing their manifesto.

“The Malay tsunami created as a pillar of the Pakatan Harapan campaign is not happening as well,” said the religious harmony bureau chairman.

He added that the Opposition was at its strongest in GE13 with the support of PAS and its stalwarts like Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat and Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.

Ti said Pakatan’s campaign tactic of attacking and humiliating Barisan leaders does not sit well with rural Malay voters who live by the principle of respecting leaders.

Ti was talking about DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming and former party member Hew Kuan Yau, also known as “Superman Hew”, who have been under fire for using racist remarks and profanities at rallies.

Ti said Pakatan realised the need for a strong Malay support to win their votes, and as such DAP’s most prominent and vocal leader Lim Kit Siang has been absent from many of the coalition’s biggest rallies.

“Pakatan Harapan wants to create a perception that it is a Malay party, but the Malay communities’ perception is that it is a DAP party,” he said.

He added that DAP’s decision to abandon the rocket logo for this election was also a tactic to retain the Malay votes by reducing DAP's presence.
