PETALING JAYA: Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali says there is no lockdown of his office in Putrajaya.

“It is not true. There is no lockdown. My officers are free to go in and out of the A-G’s Chambers,” he said when contacted.

Asked why police have barricaded the roads leading to his office, Apandi said it was for security reasons during and after the GE14.

The security measures applied to all key government offices in Putrajaya, he said when asked to comment on a viral picture showing barbed wire in front of the AGC.

The photo started going viral after Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad told reporters earlier yesterday that some government agencies and their heads would be investigated.

Dr Mahathir said that he would “look into” Apandi, Election Commission chairman Tan Sri Mohd Hashim Abdullah, as well as the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

“Our intention is to go for people who have shown a tendency to be

corrupt or who have committed known corrupt acts,” Dr Mahathir told reporters earlier yesterday.

In response to what Dr Mahathir had said, Apandi replied: “In the

circumstances, the less talk, the better.

“There is nothing to hide. All the while I have adhered to the rule of law,” he added.
