-

TAIWANESE actor Vanness Wu has announced that he will be taking a role in Ip Man 4, alongside Hong Kong action superstar Donnie Yen and English martial arts exponent Scott Adkins, Sin Chew Daily reported.

Wu made the announcement on his Instagram account, showing a photo of the script of the movie.

“Supremely honoured and blessed to be a part of the next instal- eV8j !Y jbV-V OeOoc8* eOhjcOd Ohjstories. I’ve been wanting to shoot an action film for a while and now when I have the opportunity and it’s with none other than the kick-a** awesome big brother Donnie Yen and legendary action director Yuen Woo-ping,” he wrote, adding that words cannot explain his excitement and gratitude.

The Ip Man series is based on the true story of a Chinese martial arts exponent and a teacher of Wing Chun. Ip Man’s most famous student was Bruce Lee, who later became a martial arts icon.

> The daily also reported that Taiwan’s ministry of culture has requested publishers to submit books from China for approval, before they can publish the books in the island.

It was reported that the publishing associations have received directives on the new policy.

The move has caused an uproar in Taiwan. The publishing industry has likened the move to a “Cultural Revolution”.

Taiwan has always promoted freedom of press. Books from China to be published in Taiwan need not seek approvals from the authorities.

Experts said such a policy could have violated the Constitution.
