Hong Kong star Leo Ku falls into lift shaft during concert

HONG KONG singer Leo Ku (pic) fell off the stage during his concert but continued to perform, reported China Press.

The Cantopop singer was performing in his second of a series of five concerts at the Hong Kong Coliseum on May 11 when he fell into the lift shaft in the middle of the stage.

The lift was used to bring him up to the stage during the concert.

The singer disappeare­d from the stage for about 10 minutes before reappearin­g to ensure fans that he was fine.

He later took to Facebook to announce to his fans that he injured his neck and strained some muscles during the fall.

“I am fine and the coming concerts will not be affected,” he said.

> Sin Chew Daily reported that an oil palm plantation owner sponsored free food and drinks to customers at a coffee shop in Sibu for three days following Pakatan Harapan’s win in the general election on May 9.

The coffee shop owner confirmed it, adding that all expenses were paid by the owner.

Many customers had turned up at the coffee shop to be treated to the free dishes and the cooks had to work hard to meet the demand of the huge crowd.

> The daily also reported that a school in Rawang was severely damaged by a tree which fell during a freak storm on May 10.

The tree brought down the roofs of two classrooms of SM Seri Garing and debris was all over the place.

No casualties were reported as it was a public holiday.
