PKR to have bigger say in Kedah exco
ALOR SETAR: PKR will have the biggest slice of the pie in the Kedah exco line-up, says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir.
He said the full line-up will be announced soon, along with the positions of state assembly Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
“PKR gets more because, among the parties in Pakatan Harapan, it won the most seats, so I think automatically it qualifies for more.
“On the question of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker appointments, it is a complicated thing but God willing, I will find a solution to that as well,” he said after clocking in at the Mentri Besar’s office in Wisma Darulaman here yesterday.
Mukhriz said he had also chaired a meeting of state Pakatan leaders on Sunday to discuss what needs to be done in Kedah, and the matter of the state exco composition had been agreed to by all parties.
“I am still in the process of sorting out the portfolio distribution for the state exco, and an announcement will soon be made about this as well,” he added.
Mukhriz also called on all state assemblymen to set aside politics and cooperate for the well-being of Kedahans.
“The past two years or so were spent politicking and the rakyat’s needs were largely set aside.
“It is now time for us to work together and focus on serving the people of Kedah,” he said.
