PETALING JAYA: He’s 93 years old and is up and about almost 24/7. And, it isn’t just his wife who is concerned about his well-being.

“Please take care Tun. You’re the pillar of Malaysia now. Stay healthy and we will be waiting patiently. We know Rome is not built in a day,” Facebook user Jean Sien wrote.

The posting was in reference to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who has been having hectic schedules during the weeks leading up to GE14. And, even more so after he was sworn in as Prime Minister last week.

His wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Ali revealed via the Kelab Che Det Facebook page how Dr Mahathir went through about 200 documents one night alone until about 5am and was back in office 7am.

“We know you hold the rakyat (Malaysians) close to your heart but please take care of yourself because we still need you to fight for us,” said another Facebook posting by Weng Kong Chow.

Sasientheran Vikneswaran wrote: “You won our hearts Tun. Please do take care of your health, I plead.”

Yet another Facebook user Azwan Aiman said he was worried that Dr Mahathir might not be getting enough sleep.

“I am worried to see Tun Dr Mahathir not getting enough rest and sleep. I hope he will be healthy always,” he wrote.

As for Irene Low, she wrote of her support for both the Prime Minister and his wife.

“We are all very worried about his health too. We could only pray for his well-being. God bless both of you,” said Low.
