> Magical achievement

Congratulations to magician Andrew Lee for making us proud in the Britain’s Got Talent contest. We are so proud of you. – Magical Kingdom

> Check on prices

Owners of businesses that have raised their prices because of GST being abolished on June 1 should be severely punished. Their action is defeating the objective of the new government. People, please retain your receipts as proof and compare. – MCR

> Gender equality

I am all for women representation in the Cabinet or anywhere else for that matter. But please don’t let it be based on quota. We all want the best people based on meritocracy. One should be appointed based on merit and capabilities. Just like democracy, gender equality is for all and not just a particular group of people.

> Rethink decision

Can the government reconsider the decision on the education minister, please? We can’t ask Dr Maszlee to change his religious views based on what Anas Zubedy wrote. With all due respect, Dr Maszlee will feel very tormented. I suggest it’s best to deliberate again to find a more suitable candidate and Tun Dr Mahathir can be the caretaker minister. Pakatan Harapan, please listen to the people.

> Fake MAS page

Does Malaysia Airlines know about the fake Facebook page titled “Malaysia Airlines” which apparently is run by some of its staff? This Facebook page regularly insults passengers who visit it, believing that it is a genuine site. MAS, this fake Facebook page is sullying your image. Please ask Facebook to take it down and commence investigation on the staff involved.

> Moral conscience

I fully agree with “Saving money” (SMS Views, May 21). Those political appointees who have slandered leaders of the current government should have the moral conscience to resign. Those who have wasted public funds should have the moral conscience to resign too.

> Loan repayment

Bursary students (those who score 9As for SPM) have to repay their student loans if they can’t get jobs in the civil service. The Pakatan Harapan manifesto states that all student loans shall be free. Bursary students should also be exempted from repaying the loans.

> Revisit GST

Authoritarian, oppressive and corrupt could be used to describe the former government. But in our eagerness to vilify all those who have wronged us, the rakyat, let us not condemn everything done by the former. Perhaps the GST needs to be revisited as 160 countries have found it to be necessary. Maybe start with a lower figure like 3% or total exemption on everyday necessities.
