Pupil needs stitches after being pinched

AN eightyearo­ld girl needed several stitches on her ear after a teacher allegedly pinched it because she spent too much time in the toilet during an exam, China Press reported.

The allegation was made by the girl’s aunt who uploaded a video clip on Facebook.

She said her niece was suffering from a stomachach­e that time.

According to the Chinese daily, the incident happened at a school in Bentong, Pahang, at about 10am on Tuesday.

A 4cm tear was found on the girl’s ear and her parents sent her to a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur for stitches.

Police confirmed a report was lodged on Tuesday and the case is being investigat­ed.

Meanwhile, the district education office could not be reached for comment.

The 21yearold victim was with five friends when they were caught in a heavy rain halfway through the hike.

The group continued hiking but the victim slipped and fell into the ravine at 10am. He suffered injuries to his knees and ears.

His friends called the Fire and Rescue Department which sent a team aided by members of the Mountain Search and Rescue Society.

The team located the victim, who was still conscious, at 12.37pm and they used a rope to get him out from the ravine. He was sent to Ampang Hospital for treatment.

The 39yearold Good Samaritan was about to leave his noodle stall at Pekan Lama in Sungai Petani, Kedah, when he heard the victim screaming at about 10pm.

“I saw two men on a motorcycle coming towards me. One had a knife pointed at me but I was not afraid. I was just thinking about how to stop them and the idea of knocking them off the motorcycle came into my mind,” he said.

He said the impact caused the duo to lose control of the motorbike and crash into a car.

Other passersby came to help but one of the suspects managed to escape while the other was handed over to the police.

Kuala Muda OCPD Asst Comm Saifi Abdul Hamid said the suspects used a stolen motorcycle.

He said police also believed the duo were involved in another case of voluntaril­y causing hurt in Legenda Heights, Sungai Petani.
