Wife of former prime minister to be questioned over SRC International.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will question Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor (pic) next Tuesday over investigations into SRC International Sdn Bhd, a former subsidiary of 1Malaysia Development Bhd.

A source confirmed that a notice had been given to the wife of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to turn up for questioning at the MACC’s headquarters in Putrajaya at 11am on June 5.

MACC officers were seen entering Najib’s private residence in Jalan Langgak Duta at about 4pm yesterday before leaving one and a half hours later.

“We need to question her to assist our investigations into SRC International,” the source said.

He declined to comment further.

This is the first time Rosmah has been called up by the MACC over 1MDB since the issue broke.

Najib has so far been questioned three times by MACC over SRC International.

On Dec 5, 2015, MACC took a statement from Najib over its probe into SRC and the RM2.6bil deposited into his personal account.

He was questioned again for five hours on May 22 and called back on May 24 for further questioning.

Najib has denied any wrongdoing related to 1MDB since the scandal broke in 2015 and said the RM2.6bil was a donation from a Saudi royal.

Police have searched six premises linked to Najib in their probe into the 1MDB scandal since May 16.

On May 18, they seized 284 boxes filled with designer handbags, watches, jewellery and cash in various currencies from three condominiums at Pavilion Residences in Kuala Lumpur.

Police have also been photographed transporting bags and orange boxes containing the designer handbags seized from the operation, but have not released any verified images of the seized items.
