No action against civil servants attending Pekerti event

-

SEREMBAN: Disciplinary action will not be taken against state civil servants who attended an event organised by an association linked with Barisan Nasional, says the Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar.

Aminuddin Harun said those concerned met him personally to explain why they attended the event organised by Pekerti, which is the Association of Wives of Barisan Nasional elected representatives and senior state government officials.

“The employees came to see me personally and I accepted their reasons.

“They also assured me that they will not attend any future programme organised by anyone associated with Barisan,” he told reporters after chairing the weekly state exco meeting at Wisma Negri.

Pekerti is chaired by Raja Datin Seri Salbiah Tengku Nujummuddin, the wife of former mentri besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.

Aminuddin said spouses of senior civil servants were also not allowed to attend such events.

On another matter, he said there were no political contract appointees on the state government’s payroll.

He said as such, his administration had no plans to terminate the contracts of any employee in the state.

Aminuddin also announced that there would be new line-ups in the 433 State Village Development and Security Committees when their terms end on June 30.

“We will get the views of local folk before filling these vacancies,” he said, adding that the appointees might not necessarily be Pakatan Harapan supporters.

Aminuddin also said his administration would continue with the state government-organised Mantai Perdana programme this year to allow those celebrating Hari Raya to buy cheaper beef, chicken, eggs and greens.

The event will be held from 4pm on June 12 and from 8am on June 13 in the districts.

“People will be able to buy items for between 5% and 20% cheaper than the market price,” he said.

In total, he said 155 heads of cattle, 10 buffaloes, 13,500 chickens, 1,100 ducks and 150,000 eggs would be sold at the centres.

Aminuddin said all state employees will also be given a special one-off RM1,000 payment on Tuesday for Hari Raya.
