Fourth fugitive nabbed at Cheung’s concert

-

POLICE in China arrested a fugitive at a Jacky Cheung concert in Zhejiang, the fourth captured at the Hong Kong Cantopop singer's concert within two months, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The 49yearold was spotted trying to dispose of his concert ticket near the venue on Saturday before he was arrested.

The man has been on the Shanghai police wanted list for many thefts.

Since Cheung’s concert tour began in China two months ago, sophisticated security cameras and facial recognition software have helped the authorities nab several fugitives.

Chinese netizens have been praising Cheung’s unique “crimefighting skills”, saying that his music was just too much to resist even for a wanted man.

They even tagged him the “worst enemy” of all fugitives.

The DAP Ipoh Barat MP said the party’s policy was clear in that its elected representatives were not even allowed to own state land, and this included the party chairman.

“Just call me Kula. We are the people’s servants. The people are the bosses and we must be clear about this.

“It is the people who put us in our positions,” he said at the opening of the Indian Entrepreneurs Expo in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

> Major Chinese dailies carried Taiwanese singeractress Ella Chen’s views on euthanasia, following Taiwanese sports journalist Fu Daren's recent demise from legalised assisted suicide in Switzerland.

The 85yearold sports journalist, who was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer last year, had petitioned for the legalisation of euthanasia in Taiwan since 2016 to no avail.

Ella said that she was touched by Fu’s decision, adding that he used the last moments of his life to educate people to face death positively.

She said she would choose to do the same should the same fate befall her.
