PETALING JAYA: A music editor has exposed a member of a local band as a pervert after he was caught stealing women’s underwear on video.

Calling the man – whom he once regarded as a best friend and brother – a sexual predator, Shazwan Zulkiffli said they were hanging out at a female friend’s house recently when they caught him on video.

The friend, said Shazwan, had noticed her underwear going missing after their visit each time and decided to place a GoPro camera in her bedroom.

“The footage showed the predator entering the room, taking the undergarments and escaping in 10 seconds. Like a pro!

“We confronted him and recorded a video of him confessing and removing the undergarments from his bag.

“His justification was that it was an impulsive decision.”

“Yeah right, six times impulse eh?” tweeted Shazwan using his handle @Zespoooky.

He said that although they knew that the predator had stolen underwear more than six times, the man only admitted to “more than three times” after being questioned by their group of friends.

Shazwan, who also uploaded a picture of the man who has since deactivated his Twitter account, has been criticised for exposing the man.

He said defending such people was the reason why the perverse behaviour kept recurring.

“Girls, if you know someone with pervy tendencies, please confront him or tell your other friends about him. Don’t hold out or other people will get hurt.

“Guys, if you know someone like this, even when they’re your best friend, call them out. Keep women safe,” he said.

The band has since removed the man from the group, saying that they were extremely disappointed and appalled by his actions.

“We want to emphasise that we do not condone any sexual harassment behaviour and offer our most sincere apologies to those affected by the situation,” it said in a statement.

A former band member also came out on Twitter to accuse the man of trying to record her while she was in the toilet.
