Excavator driver runs amok and kills one

A MAN driving an excavator in Yantai City, Shandong, China, went amok and rammed into members of the public, killing a person and injuring 10 others, reported Sin Chew Daily.

The 45-year-old man was later shot dead by police.

Ten vehicles and a 10m road divider were reportedly damaged during the incident.

Before police arrived at the scene, bystanders had tried to stop the man by hurling bricks at him.

He was accused of staying in an air-conditione­d room equipped with a refrigerat­or and television, which were only meant for those ranked colonel.

The artiste, whose real name is Kwon Ji-yong, is expected to be discharged tomorrow after being admitted to the hospital for an ankle injury.

Since he enlisted on Feb 27, Kwon had reportedly taken sick leave four times and spent 20 days in the hospital.

However, his label, YG Entertainm­ent, had refuted the claims, saying that there was no special room in the hospital and that the artiste had followed the standard hospitalis­ation procedure.

“The report is malicious and untrue,” said YG Entertainm­ent.

> A woman in Beijing, who shared her winning lottery ticket on social media, had her prize money taken by other people, reported China Press.

She had bet a 5-0 score in favour of Russia against Saudi Arabia during the FIFA World Cup on June 14 and won.

When she went to claim her prize at the lottery ticket counter, she was told that someone had taken the prize money. She lost 4,000 yuan (RM2,460).
