Ex threatens to expose woman’s nude pictures when she was 14

-

KUALA LUMPUR: For about six years since she was 14 years old, a girl has been sending hundreds of nude pictures to her “boyfriend” she had never met in person. The man is now blackmailing her with the photos.

The woman is living in fear of having her nude images exposed after she “ended the relationship” with the man she met online. The man told her that he was 21 when they first chatted online.

“I got to know him over Facebook in 2012 and we became close and chatted a lot,” she said at a press conference held by MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong at Wisma MCA yesterday.

“He wanted to have sex with me early on but I was scared so I did not meet him,” the woman said.

She said she had been sending him nude pictures of herself about six months into the online relationship. However, by 2013, she had enough.

“But I was afraid to end the relationship because he threatened to release the pictures to my family and post them on the Internet,” she said.

“I was so afraid and traumatised that I even tried to commit suicide.”

She lodged a police report recently after seeking Chong’s help.

Chong said he has received 11 such cases this year alone.

“Please do not send compromising pictures of yourself to anyone as they can easily be used against you,” he said.

“Don’t trust anyone who asks for it.”
