Haiza denies taking advantage of her friendship with S’gor MB

-

LOCAL singer and Kool FM deejay Haiza Hanafi, 38, denied taking advantage of her friendship with Selangor Mentri Besar Amirudin Shari to perform at a recent state organised programme.

“Indeed we were classmates at the same school in Benut, Pontian, Johor and there is no denying that we were close in school.

“But as we grew up we rarely met but were in contact by telephone,” she told Harian Metro.

She added that she would invite Amirudin, 38, whenever she held her Hari Raya open house, with the latter attending the celebration last year.

She said both of them were supportive of each other’s careers in different fields.

Haiza is said to have been offered to emcee at the Selangor Hari Raya Open House celebrations in Shah Alam on June 24 owing to her good relations with the Sungai Tua assemblyman.

She said the open house event was done in a professional manner and that she was involved in PKR’s Hari Raya event for the last three years.

She added the process was done through an agent without the use of any “cable” (connections) for the job.

> A woman contractor from Kota Baru, Kelantan, paid RM33,000 for a custom-made Bawal Exclusive tudung, reported Kosmo!

The purchase in April was the highest ever paid for a tudung in the country.

It topped the RM21,600 paid for a tudung in 2017 by another woman contractor.

Both headscarves were specially ordered from As Galleria (AG) in Lembah Sireh.

The exclusivity and price of a particular headscarf depends on its design and the Swarovski crystals used, said AG manager Rabiatu Hasmak Ghani.
