Drug ring in KL busted with arrest of four
KUALA LUMPUR: Police busted a drug syndicate with the arrests of a local and three Vietnamese women, which also saw the seizure of a cache of drugs worth over RM1mil.
City police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said the suspects, aged between 23 and 35, were arrested during a 7.20pm raid at a condominium in Jalan Galloway on Thursday.
“Our officers found the suspects were in the midst of packaging the drugs before being distributed to entertainment outlets.
“We seized Ecstasy powder weighing 12.699kg, 80 Ecstasy pills, 90 Erimin 5 pills and ketamine,” he said yesterday.
Comm Mazlan said initial investigations showed the drugs were from outside of the Klang Valley and that the syndicate was active for the past six months.
He said the packets would be mixed into beverages and juices to evade detection by the authorities.
“There may be some users who are not aware that their soft drinks are spiked,” he said.
All four suspects have been remanded for a week to assist in investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
In a separate case, Comm Mazlan said police thwarted a drug and sex party with the arrests of 68 people, including Indonesians and Thais, in two condominiums in Jalan Ceylon and Jalan Ampang.
He said drugs were also seized in the premises and that many of the suspects tested positive for drugs.
“Fees between RM100 and 200 were charged for the party, which was organised through an invite via a social media app,” he said.
