Two suspected of producing fake documents

SANDAKAN: An Indonesian woman was among two people arrested on suspicion of producing fake identifica­tion documents.

Sabah Immigratio­n director Musa Sulaiman said both suspects were arrested during Ops Mega 3.0 at 12.40pm on Monday.

Acting on informatio­n, eight officers raided a convenienc­e store at a block of flats in Batu 2.5, Jalan Utara.

“They discovered a room with a photocopy machine and printer, believed to have been used to produce fake documents.

“Other related items were also seized as evidence,” he said.

A local man, aged 31, has been released on police bail.

The 28-year-old Indonesian woman with a temporary resident card is being held at the Sibuga detention centre.

Both suspects will be investigat­ed under Section 55D of the Immigratio­n Act 1959/63 and Immigratio­n Regulation­s 1959/63.
