Two suspected of producing fake documents
SANDAKAN: An Indonesian woman was among two people arrested on suspicion of producing fake identification documents.
Sabah Immigration director Musa Sulaiman said both suspects were arrested during Ops Mega 3.0 at 12.40pm on Monday.
Acting on information, eight officers raided a convenience store at a block of flats in Batu 2.5, Jalan Utara.
“They discovered a room with a photocopy machine and printer, believed to have been used to produce fake documents.
“Other related items were also seized as evidence,” he said.
A local man, aged 31, has been released on police bail.
The 28-year-old Indonesian woman with a temporary resident card is being held at the Sibuga detention centre.
Both suspects will be investigated under Section 55D of the Immigration Act 1959/63 and Immigration Regulations 1959/63.
