SHAH ALAM: An administrative assistant is believed to have been murdered by her male colleague at a vocational college in Telok Datok, Banting, near here.

Kuala Langat district police chief Supt Azizan Tukiman said in the 2.30pm incident yesterday, the body of Zaimah Mahmod, 57, was found in the storeroom of the college’s administration office.

Prior to the discovery, police received a phone call from the 28yearold suspect, who admitted that he had strangled and stabbed the victim to death with a knife.

According to Azizan, the suspect, who worked as a laboratory assistant at the college, was standing next to the victim’s body in the storeroom when the police arrived.

He said initial investigations revealed that the suspect had confessed to the murder, saying he was often mocked by the victim.

“The victim is said to have fre quently remarked that the suspect had an affair with another staff member at the same workplace,” he said.

He also said the suspect had been receiving treatment for stress management at Banting Hospital.

Supt Azizan said the body was taken to the hospital for a postmortem.

Police would seek a remand order against the suspect today to facilitate investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, he added. — Bernama
