> Lake Baikal or “the Nature Lake” is located in the south of Siberia.

It is the largest freshwater lake in the world and the seventh largest waterhole on earth.

This lake is estimated to be between 25 and 30 million years old.

> Mount Elbrus is a dormant volcano near the Georgia border.

It is the highest mountain in Europe and the 10th most prominent in the world.

> The Moscow Kremlin is one of the most ancient parts of Moscow. It is steeped in history.

There are many palaces and cathedrals here. It also used to house the tsars' residence. Kremlin is one of Unesco’s World Heritage Centres.

Peninsula, the Valley of Geysers has the second largest concentrat­ion of geysers in the world.

There are 90 geysers and many hot springs along this 6km-long basin.

One of the most beautiful geysers in the world, Velikan Geyser, is found here.

> Saint Basil’s Cathedral is located at the Red Square.

This church is now a museum. It was built in 1555 by Ivan the Terrible to commemorat­e the capture of Kazan and Astrakhan, two states in south and southwest of Russia.
