Muhyiddin on MC after surgery

PUTRAJAYA: Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will be on medical leave for one month following surgery to remove a growth in his pancreas.

During this period, his duties will be taken over by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Muhyiddin’s press secretary Hafiz Abdul Halim said doctors managed to detect the growth early.

“Alhamdulil­lah the surgery was successful and he is stable,” Hafiz said in a statement.

He added that Muhyiddin would undergo follow-up treatment while on leave.
