GEORGE TOWN: A 37-year-old woman has lodged a police report after her eight-year-old daughter alleged that one of her school teachers abused her.

Fazilah Abdul Rahim, from Hilir Sungai Pinang, said her daughter claimed her stomach and back hurt after her teacher beat and threw a shoe at her.

In her report lodged with the George Town district police station, Fazilah, a trading officer, said her daughter complained of pain at about 7pm on Wednesday.

“My daughter said the teacher poured water on her, drenching her uniform,” said Fazilah in her report.

“She has been traumatised from the incident and the police should investigate and take action.”

State Education Committee chairman Dr P. Ramasamy urged Fazilah to see him over the allegation.

“Bullying in schools should stop. If the teacher is guilty, I will urge the state Education Department to take stern action,” he said.
