Angelababy hit with ‘fake news’ on Weibo

-

A POST circulating on China’s Twitter-like Weibo, which claimed that Chinese actress Angela Yeung (pic) was unable to comfort her crying son at a restaurant in Shanghai, was greatly exaggerated, Sin Chew Daily reported.

Yeung is better known by her stage name Angelababy, which is a combination of her nickname Baby.

The post also said Yeung’s staff confiscated the phones of other diners and checked if her photo or video was taken to prevent it from being circulated.

Some diners, however, said the baby was sitting quietly.

They said the post was created by those who hated the actress.

“Even if you do not like her, do not drag her son into it,” a person commented on social media.

A spokesman for Yeung later posted the actual account of the incident on Weibo.

> The daily also reported that a male teacher at a school in Kepong was caught streaming pornography during class.

The incident had attracted much debate among parents on social media.

Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng, who received a complaint from parents, criticised the teacher.

“The teacher had only served the school for one year and should be investigated.

“School is a place for pupils to learn and such acts will not be tolerated,” he added.
