Woman m-cyclist and kids killed in NSE collision

-

SUNGAI BULOH: A woman with two children riding pillion on her motorcycle were killed instantly after a collision with a lorry and another vehicle along the NorthSouth Expressway here.

The accident occurred at KM451.5, about six kilometres away from the horrific multi-vehicle crash which took the lives of four people on Saturday.

Selangor police Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Azman Shari’at said the incident occurred at around 10.10pm on Monday.

“The 21-year-old woman was riding the motorcycle with a 10-yearold boy and 14-year-old girl along the highway heading south.

“The motorcycle crashed into the back of the lorry which was parked in the emergency lane before hitting another vehicle which has yet to be identified,” he said yesterday.

Supt Azman said the three victims were thrown off the machine and into the middle of the busy expressway.

“They died on the spot. Their bodies were taken to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for a post-mortem,” he said, adding that the case is being investigated for reckless driving. The lorry driver escaped unhurt. In the Saturday accident, a trailer, which was heading north, hit two vehicles before losing control and ramming through the centre divider. The trailer crashed into another car on the opposite lane while three more oncoming cars were unable to stop and rammed into the trailer.

Supt Azman urged anyone who witnessed the motorcycle accident to contact the police at 03-2052 9999 or visit the nearest police station.
