AFTER five years, Singaporean singer-songwriter JJ Lin will be back in Malaysia for his Sanctuary World concert tour on Sept 7 and 8 at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, reported China Press.

Lin has roped in prominent concert director Ida Wong to enhance the visual aspect of his stage, and renowned producer David Foster for the vocals and music.

An industry veteran of almost 30 years, Ida has worked with super- stars like Faye Wong, Eason Chan and Sandy Lam.

> A part-time e-hailing driver in Penang claimed to have lost RM500 to a passenger-turned-robber, according to Nanyang Siang Pau.

The 34-year-old teacher said the robber also made him remove his shirt and took a recording of it as a way to warn him against lodging a police report.

The driver picked up the suspect in Perak Road at 2am on Saturday. After dropping him off in Tanjung Tokong, the suspect approached him with two accomplices, one of whom wore a helmet.

They took his handphone and a bag after dragging him out of the car.

“The man with the helmet identified himself as a policeman and started to accuse me of being a pimp and a bogus immigration officer, and asked me to pay RM3,000 for my release.

“They then took off my shirt and filmed me before taking me to a nearby ATM to withdraw RM500,” said the victim.

He added that the robbers even took him to a pawn shop to force him to pawn his handphone.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Anuar Omar said they picked up a 35-year-old man, who has a criminal record, at the security post of a flat in Jelutong to facilitate investigations.
