For Hong Leong Investment Bank Group managing director and chief executive officer Lee Jim Leng, patriotism means loving Malaysia in every way possible.

“That doesn’t mean just showing love. It has to come from the heart.

“#AnakAnakMalaysia is a symbol of unity among all of us. We come together for a good cause to show that we are all proud of Malaysia,” she said.

Youth Ambassador for the National Cancer Society of Malaysia Dr Choo Mei Sze, who lived in the United States for six years, shared her personal experience with selfidentity while studying there.

“Whenever people asked me where I come from or what ethnicity I am, I would tell them that I’m Malaysian before anything else.

“I once studied in Hawaii for my master’s degree and one day I cooked Malaysian food for my close friend. Now she comes to Malaysia all the time to visit me.

“I find that the campaign wristband is very cool as it incorporates local elements like wau, nasi lemak, hornbills and ‘I love MY’,” Dr Choo said.
