KUALA LUMPUR: Why is producer Datuk Hans Isaac still single? His long-time friend and director Datuk Afdlin Shauki has the answer.

“When you go to Hans’ office, you can see that he only has pictures of himself. Hans, I think if you don’t want to be single anymore, you should put up pictures of the girl you want to marry,” Afdlin said at the Baik Punya Concert 4D (loosely meaning, “a great 4D concert”).

Hans’ bachelorhood and failed relationships are behind the inspiration for songs and comedic sketches performed at the concert at Istana Budaya on Friday night.

The gig, which ran from July 26 to 28, also featured rocker Datuk Awie and television personality Datuk AC Mizal in its line-up with Hans and Afdlin. The 4D in the title of the show represents the four friends with the Datuk title.

In the show, Hans’ pals took turns to poke fun at him.

At one point, Awie joked that 46-year-old Hans should have settled down with actress Erra Fazira whom he dated back in 2007.

Hans was briefly engaged to ex-beauty queen Gabriella Robinson in 2017, and has also been romantically linked to TV host-entrepreneur Neelofa.

Afdlin, who noticed Neelofa in the audience, dragged her on stage during a segment of Hans performing the song Kau Ilhamku.

A surprised Hans was then made to perform part of the song before her.

Nevertheless, Hans said he was happy to be the subject of ridicule at Baik Punya Concert 4D.

After all, it was for a good cause as proceeds from ticket sales went towards Yayasan Chow Kit.

“We did the show with sincere intentions. We’re not getting any payment, and there are no sponsors.

“So I want to thank everyone who paid to attend the show. I hope they had fun singing and dancing along with us,” said Hans, an admirer of the work done by the NGO that provides services like health, education and shelter for underprivileged children.

A cheque for RM20,000 was presented to Yayasan Chow Kit founder Tini Zainuddin.

Present to witness the cheque presentation was Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo.

“We appreciate events that help to collect funds for children in need. From my side, the ministry, we will try to help as much as we can.

“Here’s hoping that we can be a part of more events so that we can share this experience with you,” Gobind said in a short speech.
