> The Perak state Hindu priests association has refuted recent allegations that many priests are overcharging for their services or are unqualified to perform rituals, reported Tamil Nesan.
Association president Siva Sri K. Mohanasundara Sivachariyar claimed certain groups are spreading rumours about the priests in the state’s Hindu temples.
They alleged the priests were not well versed in the rituals and ceremonies and that these holy men charged high prices.
Some of these allegations also came from those holding positions in Hindu organisations, which should know better the working conditions of the priests, added Mohanasundara.
