> Do the right thing

The sheer act of directing one’s staff to sign a petition or letter of support says it all about the intimidating power of the head of department. Your work record does not give you the right to do as per alleged by your accusers. Make Malaysia great again. Do the right thing. – Jason

> Food for thought

Do lawmakers in Kelantan intend to take child brides since they are against making 18 years the minimum age for marriage? If it involves their own children, would they allow it?

> Spies and moles

Rakyat should not be surprised that Malaysia also has spies to maintain the security of the nation. But we have moles too who must be caught as they are a threat to our country’s security! – Zilazu

> Thalassaemia info

We have had no update on the thalassaemia screening of Form 4 students in government schools in Malaysia. No information has been provided to the lay public about thalassaemia and why screening for the condition is needed for Chinese and Malays in Sabah and Sarawak. – Dr G. Thuraiappah

> Dangerous driving

On Monday (July 30) at 1.10pm, two police outriders with their siren wailing intermittently were escorting an MPV along Jalan Masjid Negeri (Green Lane) in Penang when they overtook other vehicles across the double line in the underpass! An oncoming heavy vehicle had to take evasive action. What they did was dangerous and put other motorists at risk of injury or even death. Luckily, traffic was light at that time. I hope action will be taken against these people. The authorities can verify this incident through the CCTV system installed in the underpass. – Lee Cheng Hock, Penang

> Probe late delivery

I wrote to Pos Malaysia more than a month ago regarding its non-delivery of letters. Until today, I have not received any reply apart from one which stated that it is investigating the matter. I feel Pos Malaysia is taking too long. I hope the ministry concerned will look into this matter and advise Pos Malaysia accordingly. – Bangsar Resident

> Strange numbers

Telekom, why do I keep getting calls from strange numbers? My caller ID showed this recently – 2578338244. Since when have we had 10-digit numbers without the 0 prefix?
