Pregnant actress threatened over role

ACTRESS Niena Baharun (pic), who is six months pregnant, has been threatened with assault on Instagram over her role as the antagonist Husnaa ini theth TV3 ddrama JanganJ Benci Cintaku, reeported Harian Metro.

Niena, 25, whosew real name is Amaniena Kamaarul Baharun, said a woman had called her a homewrecke­r and thhreatene­d to kick her in the gut if theyt ever meet in public.

“Throughout the drama’s run on television, I receiver private messages everry day on Instagram.

“If it is only hate comments, I am all riight with it because it is norrmal. But if it is to the pooint of threatenin­g to kkick me in the stommach until I havee a miscarriag­e, I think it is excessive.

“The message sent by this woman who I think is a ‘psycho’ particular­ly attracted my attention and I need to put a halt to it,” she said, adding that she has blblockedk­d thattht womann on social media.

Thinking that her daughter was knocking on her door, the victim opened it and was threatened with a knife to hand over her gold bracelet and necklace.

The suspects, who have no past criminal record, pawned the jewellery for RM2,000.

> Berita Harian reported that a woman in Shah Alam was disappoint­ed as she had to call several authoritat­ive parties before an injured terrapin could be saved.

Hafizah Ahmad, 32, said she spotted the terrapin with a hook stuck in its mouth when she was jogging on Wednesday morning.

“I called the Shah Alam City Council but was informed it was not under its jurisdicti­on. They told me to contact the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM),” she said.

However, she said she had tried calling the APM, the 999-emergency hotline, the Veterinary Services Department before the Fire Department personnel finally responded to her call.

Section 15 Shah Alam Fire Station chief Azmel Kamarudin said efforts to remove the hook were unsuccessf­ul and they had to send the terrapin to the Veterinary Services Department.
