> Breach of trust

A detailed investigation must be carried out on the contents of the BTN courses attended by members of the judiciary. Former chief justices and top government leaders must be taken to task for the indoctrination done and possible serious encroachment of independence of the judiciary. – Ajit Gill

> Good for EPF

Is Datuk Shahril Ridza Ridzuan one of those being considered for MD of Khazanah Nasional? Please let him stay on as CEO of the EPF. We feel so much better with him helming the EPF and taking care of our retirement funds.

> Organ for sale

Agree with Gomez Jacob on legalising the sale of kidney for transplants in Malaysia, “Radical option for organ transplant” ( The

Star, Aug 2).

> Ignore the call

It’s simply mind-boggling that a lecturer who’s certainly not dumb could be duped of RM500,000, “Why are they still so dumb?” ( The Star, Aug 2). The solution to the problem is as easy as ABC. Just ignore the phone calls of these scammers whether you’re guilty of any wrongdoings or not. – Guiding Light

> Kudos to MACC

A very big thank you to MACC for uncovering the timber logging conspiracy in Sabah. Unscrupulous individuals who profit from these activities are totally uncaring of the environment. We can never get back our precious forests but perhaps we can save the ones we still have.

> What about animals?

I’m impressed by the fruitful discussions done by Pakatan Harapan MPs. However, no one has brought up issues on domestic and wildlife animal welfare which is urgent.

> Duty to protect

Talking of strange numbers, it is the duty of telcos to protect their customers from scammers. Believe it or not, I received a call from the number 303. – Maxis 666

> Good work, Daren

It’s good to know that our Daren Liew has reached the quarter-finals of the World Badminton Championships in Nanjing, China. He was right in voicing out his disappointment that when Lee Chong Wei withdrew, BAM did not give him a chance of progressing from the first round. I share his disappointment as he has proven to be a fighter against all odds on many occasions. We, the fans, are proud of Daren and wish him further success in this tournament. – P. Thomas
