Pact to develop halal business

LIMKOKWING University London recently signed a collaborat­ion agreement with Halal Internatio­nal Selangor and European Halal Developmen­t Agency.

This is to bring about business consultanc­y and human resource developmen­t for the halal market in both regions.

The Halal Entreprene­urs Centre is the first of its kind in the world.

The establishm­ent of the Halal Internatio­nal Entreprene­urs Centre in the Limkokwing University’s UK campus is a giant leap for Malaysia’s national agenda and a global footprint in internatio­nalising the halal brand for consumers worldwide who demand ethical, organic and safe products.

University founder and president Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing hopes to replicate the centre at his campuses in Asia and Africa in support of Malaysia’s leadership in growing more halal entreprene­urs worldwide.

During the ceremony, Lim was also acknowledg­ed for 40 years of tireless advocacy to incubate, build and promote Malaysian Halal Brands for the world market. Additional­ly, he was also recognised for his pioneering vision of the halal brand.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Selangor Investment, Industry and Commerce committee chairman Datuk Teng Chang Khim, Invest Selangor CEO Datuk Hassan Idris, Halal Internatio­nal Selangor director Datuk Mahmud Abbas, European Halal Developmen­t Agency chairman Dr Adel Sabir, Limkokwing University senior vice president Datuk Aznil Raja Hisham and Limkokwing University London Academic Director Jake Morton.

Business and industry associates as well as Malaysian Investment Developmen­t Authority chief executive officer Datuk Azman Mahmud and Mida London director Wahida Abd. Rahman were also present.

The Halal Internatio­nal Entreprene­urs Centre is a conducive environmen­t for meetings, seminars, training, and other business events.
