KUALA LUMPUR: Petronas is back to inspire Malaysians with more memorable stories this National Day and Malaysia Day with the Cerita Kita television commercial (TVC) and the Ceritera Kita art exhibition.

In keeping with the spirit of a “new Malaysia”, the campaign this year underlines the people’s stories and aspirations to move forward as one through the eyes of the youngsters.

“The TVC stories are narrated through the lens of children and how they view the theme of hope, love, family and heroes as we see Malaysia anew,” explains Petronas group strategic communications senior general manager Zahariah Abdul Rahman.

“Petronas continues to inspire Malaysians to move forward with the same spirit.”

Speaking at the launch of the campaign at Galeri Petronas here, Zahariah noted that National Day and Malaysia Day essentially reflect the spirit of unity amongMalaysians.

“This year, we continue to highlight unique Malaysian moments and stories,” she added.

The 60-second commercial showcases scenes of Malaysian life via captivating photographs taken by 10 children, aged between five and 13, across the country.

Meanwhile, the exhibition, held in conjunction with the TVC launch, highlights the nation-building efforts of Petronas through its corporate social investment.

“As a responsible corporate citizen, we continue to focus on three areas of corporate social responsibility – education, community wellbeing and development as well as environment,” said Zahariah.

“Through the exhibition, we want to invoke a strong sense of purpose that harnesses the human energy, and as an iconic brand to Malaysians, we would like to offer a holistic view on how we move forward together with society.”

During the launch, guests and the media had a chance to preview the latest TVC and tour the exhibition.

Also present at the event were Petronas chairman Datuk Ahmad Nizam Salleh and president and group chief executive officer Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin.

The young talent featured in the TVC also made a special appearance.

The Cerita Kita TVC is now available for viewing on all Petronas social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube).

It will also air on television through a special report from today until Sept 16.

Additionally, the public can look forward to another two special 30-second commercials, which will be broadcast from Sept 1 to 16.

The Ceritera Kita exhibition is open for public viewing at Galeri Petronas, on the third level of Suria KLCC, from today until Sept 30. Admission is free.

“Through this campaign, we present inspiring stories that impart the values we commonly share and cherish,” said Zahariah.

“We hope the campaign serves as a continuous reminder of what makes all of us Malaysians special.”
