The incident occurred at a school in Ipoh on Aug 7 during a Bahasa Malaysia class when the student was found to have not completed his essay homework.

The student claimed he was caned four times on his left palm which later swelled.

Seven other students were also punished for the same offence, some until their palms bled.

The male teacher ignored them, claimed the student.

His family took him for an X-ray and found that his left wrist was fractured.

The boy also claimed that earlier in April, the teacher pulled his ear until it bled for for- getting to bring a textbook.

The teacher has been hauled up by the police for questioning and released on bail.
