Mydin: Celebrate love for our country
Hypermart chain launches Raikan MalaysiaKu
Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd is calling on Malaysians to celebrate this National Day with its Raikan MalaysiaKu (Celebrate My Malaysia) campaign.
The campaign, which was launched at Mydin USJ here yesterday, is not only about marking 61 years of independence, but also appreciating the commitment shown by Malaysians for the country.
Its managing director Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin said the campaign was one of the ways the company gave back to the country.
“We call on Malaysians to do a Merdeka pledge with Mydin in building a more progressive Malaysia.
“I believe that with the spirit of love for the country, we can achieve the impossible. Let’s make the country a better one,” he said.
Ameer Ali said Mydin had always felt a strong kinship with the country, having been born in 1957, the same year Malaya gained independence from the British.
Among the programmes under the campaign include Shop, Collect, and Redeem 2018; Shop, Fly, and Drive 2018; Raikan MalaysiaKu jacket wrap in The Star and Sinar Harian; and the #MYpledge initiative.
The #MYpledge initiative, in collaboration with media partners such as Star Media Group Bhd, calls on Malaysians to write their pledge for the country and post it on the #MYpledge boards placed at 63 Mydin outlets nationwide.
There will also be #MYpledge boards at Menara Star as well as Sinar Harian and Suria FM offices.
Subang Jaya assemblyman Michelle Ng Mei Sze, who launched the Raikan MalaysiaKu campaign, said #MYpledge was a good initiative by Mydin.
“My personal #MYpledge is to do my best for the people, especially my constituents,” she said.
Another campaign, MyMerdeka Sayangi Malaysiaku, a collaboration between Mydin and the Information Department, was also launched yesterday.
It is an exhibition on the history and aspiration for the country.
It will be on display in Mydin USJ until Aug 19 and Mydin Meru Raya, Ipoh (Aug 30 to Sept 1), Mydin Mutiara Rini, Skudai (Sept 6 to Sept 8), and Mydin Petra Jaya, Kuching (Sept 14 to Sept 16).
Also present at the launch were Information Department director-general Datuk Ibrahim Abdul Rahman, Star Media Group chief revenue officer Lydia Wang and chief content officer Esther Ng, and Karangkraf group managing director Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacub.
