Ex-CM ready to face all outstanding issues despite health concerns, says spokesman
PETALING JAYA: Former Sabah chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman has arrived back home in Malaysia, some three months after he left following a criminal intimidation report filed against him.
Musa, said his spokesman Awang Faisal, was ready to face all outstanding issues despite health concerns.
Immigration directorgeneral Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali said Musa and his entourage landed at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang at 6.45pm from Selatar Airport in Singapore.
Musa, he said, could not present himself at the Immigration counter due to health reasons but department personnel were able to check his immigration credentials.
“The passenger’s documents were checked and recorded in the Immigration system,” he said in a statement here yesterday.
Full cooperation was provided by all parties concerned and the process went smoothly, he added.
Musa, who has not been seen since a criminal intimidation report was filed against him by the Sabah Yang diPertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin, is wanted by the police.
Mustafar said both the police and the Malaysian AntiCorruption Commission were also informed of Musa’s return.
Ahmad said Musa was currently being examined and monitored by his team of physicians at a hospital in Kuala Lumpur.
In Kota Kinabalu, a photo of Musa purportedly in a London hospital has become the main talking point.
Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, the Parti Warisan Sabah president who is Musa’s successor, could not help weighing in on the photo which went viral on social media.
The photo was uploaded on Facebook by Musa’s political aide Mohd Joh Wid who said he was returning to Malaysia against the advice of the doctor treating him in England.
Mohd Shafie said he did not know if the photo was “authentic” but added that “Musa is not above the law”.
“I don’t know if he is sick. I have not seen him ... we have not been given any medical report.
“If you are really ill, you need crutches or a wheelchair, not a tongkat. If you are sick you should have more grey hair like me. I see he still has lots of black hair,” Mohd Shafie told reporters yesterday.
He said Musa must take his oath as Sungai Sibuga assemblyman by Sept 11 as required by law.
