Muhammad Ummar Zayyan Mohammad Haikal has been warded at the hospital’s intensive care unit since Monday, where doc tors continue to monitor his condition.

His 26yearold mother Zura Emilia Mokhtar said in an interview that Muhammad Ummar Zayyan had apparently lost consciousness at the babysitter’s house after she dropped him off.

“The babysitter, who has been looking after him for a week, contacted me and said that my son had fainted.

“I rushed to her home immediately and took him to hospital,” said Zura Emilia, who is working as a nurse at HTJ.

She said she did not have a clue as to what happened to her son.

“All the babysitter told me was that my son fainted and that his body was slightly blue,” she said.

Her son is on a ventilator to aid his breathing.

“I don’t wish to speculate or blame anyone for what has happened,” she said.

“I lodged a report on Monday and will let the police investigate.”

Zura Emilia added that she hoped people would continue to pray for her son’s recovery.

District police chief ACP Thiew Hock Poh confirmed a report was lodged by the mother.

The case was being probed under section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 for abuse, which carries a jail term of up to 10 years and a fine not exceeding RM20,000 upon conviction.
