KUALA LUMPUR: With a week to go before the re-introduction of the Sales and Service Tax (SST), some have made it their mission to secure a vehicle at the 2018 CarSifu Auto Show.

For business partners Harmeet and Sarjit Panesar, who got to know about the show through The Star newspaper, their mission is to get a vehicle for a relative.

“We’ve actually been shopping around for a few months now and since we saw the show was happening in Mid Valley, we thought we should come and take a look for my brother-in-law,” said Sarjit.

“We’re considering the Isuzu D-Max pickup truck at the moment and next up, we thought we should take a look at what Renault is offering.

“We’re still undecided but ulti- mately, we need to make a decision by today,” said Harmeet.

For 39-year-old civil servant Fazli Jusoh, this may just be the right time to make a change and replace his existing vehicle.

“I’m actually considering a sport utility vehicle at the moment.

“I was thinking that perhaps the Nissan X-Trail would be a better fit for us,” said Fazli, who brought along his wife, two children and their grandmother.

The 2018 CarSifu Auto Show is being held at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre at Mid Valley Megamall until tomorrow, 10am to 9pm daily.

Among the brands offering great deals are Subaru, Mazda, Nissan, Renault, Kia, Peugeot, Citroen, Proton, Isuzu and Volvo.

Visitors who book their cars at the show will be eligible for the Book and Win contest that has Sharp Malaysia sponsoring an Aquos 60-inch 4K television with Easy Smart and 10 units of the Japanese electronics brand’s Plasmacluster Car Ion Generator.
