Andy Lau invited to ‘Hantu Kak Limah’ party

HONG Kong superstar Andy Lau has been invited to the celebration party for Hantu Kak Limah, which is now the highest-grossing Malaysian film, Sin Chew Daily reported.

Lau is one of the investors of the comedy-horror film released on Aug 9. It netted RM20.5 mil in ticket sales in just 11 days.

The film’s executive producer Gayatri Pillai said the movie only cost about RM1.8mil to make.

“Our boss Andy Lau is very happy. He sent us a text message to congratulate us. We invited him to our celebration party, but his attendance will depend on his schedule,” she said.

Produced by Infinitus Entertainment (M) Sdn Bhd and Astro Shaw, the film is the fourth one set in the fictional village of Kampung Pisang and the third offering in the Hantu Kak Limah trilogy.

Infinitus Entertainment was founded by Lau and Datuk Seri Robin Tan, according to the film’s executive producer T.P. Lim.

Topping the list is Portugal’s Algarve, which got an “A+”.

Kuala Lumpur is ranked fifth while George Town is 10th. Kota Kinabalu and Kundasang are ranked 18th and 26th respectively.

The website said the list was based on months of on-the-ground research with help from LIO’s farflung team of expatriates, experts and correspondents.

Their judging was based on cost of living, crime and safety, how widely English is spoken, entertainment, environmental conditions, expatriate community, healthcare, infrastructure, real-estate affordability and restrictions, recreation, residency options and taxes.
