Get a brand new car before Sales and Service Tax kicks in
KUALA LUMPUR: With the five-day 2018 CarSifu Auto Show wrapping up today, many of its booths are expected to be swamped with people looking to check out offers and cash in on the tax holiday before the Sales and Service Tax returns.
“My dad is looking for his retirement car,” said Alicia Ng who brought along her father Kelvin and mother Irene.
“He really wants a SUV and he likes the Renault Koleos,” she said after looking at the Subaru XV, Forester and the Peugeot 3008.
Mohamad Shah Sharif was also at the auto show with his wife Zarina Mohd Ghazali and their 18-year-old son Akmal Haziq.
“We’d like a small car,” said the 56-year-old businessman as he eyed a Proton Iriz.
With a Hyundai Starex and a Mitsubishi Triton in his possession, the third car may be one his wife and son can use, he said.
