Wishing for a colour-blind Malaysia

-

AS a Malaysian, I am always proud of our diversity and unity.

I am never perturbed by negative things that others say about our beloved country. We are a unique nation.

I have three wishes for this year’s National Day. My first wish is that the nation should move on with its vision and mission to make Malaysia a corrupt-free country.

Instead of pointing fingers at each other and having never-ending squabbles, we should all take up the challenge of cleansing us from the cancer of corruption.

My second wish is to see each and every one of us becoming colour-blind by accepting all into our lives and viewing them as simply Malaysians.

Let us be united as one spirit striving to make Malaysia a melting pot of cultures and religions to form an integrated society.

My final wish is that all our voices be heard for the good of the country. Many choose to remain silent. It is time to break away from this, to listen and act.

Every individual should be given the freedom to voice out.

I have many other wishes too regarding cleanliness, the environment, work culture, integrity, healthy lifestyle and the list can go on.

For now let us work together in building our motherland to become a great nation that others will look up to.
