Cheryl Samad back after a 10-year break
CHERYL Samad (pic) will return to the television screen after a 10year hiatus from acting, Kosmo! reported.
The 38yearold will be starring in The Bridge, a TV drama inspired by a Scandinavian series of the same name, to be aired in November.
Cheryl said the series’ complex and interesting plot attracted her to the project.
She found her character, Erin Tajuddin, interesting as Erin’s personality was opposite to hers in real life.
“The character of Erin demands me to be grumpy and to shout whenever angry,” she said.
> The daily also reported that two men assaulted a security guard for refusing to remove a traffic cone that blocked their way.
The incident took place at 12.41am on Sunday when the duo, aged 32 and 38, wanted the security guard to remove a cone that was blocking their entry to the residential area at Jalan Batu Nilam 12, Bukit Tinggi, Klang.
South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Shamsul Amar Ramli said the 37yearold security guard refused to remove the cone and asked the men to enter through another security post that was still open.
Angered by the guard’s action, one of the suspects took a gun from his car and threatened the guard with it.
The two men then assaulted the security guard.
Police arrested the pair at a house in the residential area, and seized a Glock handgun and 20 bullets.
ACP Shamsul Amar said the 32yearold suspect had a firearm licence and worked as a personal bodyguard.

Batu Pahat acting OCPD Supt Mender Singh said the 41yearold suspect and another man had gone to the owner’s house to look at the watch.
They then told the seller that they would return in a few days to buy the watch. The two men went to the seller’s house a few days later and again asked to inspect the watch.
The suspects then tried to flee with the watch but one was caught by the owner.
