“Three golds and one silver so far. Never in my dream did I think this was possible,” said Eugenius.
“I dedicate this win to my coach Desmond Liew, my teammates, family and also the Sabah State Sports Council for the support over the last few months.
“I took up compound archery five years ago. Sabah’s coach is also my uncle. He felt that I was stronger and ready to handle the compound bow.
“This sport is only a hobby for me as I have to focus on my SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) exams at the end of this year and later, further my studies.
“I did not feel pressure today as I’ve won a gold the day before,” said the bespectacled Eugenius from Kota Kinabalu.
