Anglers delighted with whopper of a catch
A GROUP of anglers had a huge stroke of luck when they landed a giant ikan patin buah
(silver catfish) weighing 150kg, reported Kosmo!.
The fish was caught at Sungai Lubok Jong in Kampung Teresek, Pasir Mas, Kelantan, at about 12.30am on Monday using a specialised method called candik.
A member of the group, Mohd Ghazali Daud, said they were shocked by the size of the fish.
“This is our biggest catch ever. It was quite a struggle to reel the fish in,” the 62-yearold-said, adding that it took them more than an hour to land their catch.

The 28yearold will be competing in Ironman Langkawi 2018 in November.
He participated in the Port Dickson International Triathlon in May.
“It took me a year to prepare for the Port Dickson event. Once I finished the race, I felt sure that I could handle a bigger competition.
“Many friends asked if I was afraid. I will not lie, especially when it comes to swimming in the sea, but I need to get rid of that fear.
“Now I know how to take control of such a situation,” he added.
Alif, whose real name is Muhammad Alif Mohd Satar, said it was not easy as he needed a lot of training.
Ironman Langkawi 2018 will see participants swim for 1.9km, cycle 90km and run 21km.
“I have already imagined myself running towards the finishing line carrying the Jalur Gemilang,” Alif said.
