‘Jewel In The Palace’ star calls it quits on her marriage

IT appears to be the end of wedded bliss for Lee Young-ae (pic), the leading lady of Jewel In The Palace, a Korean TV series that helped kickstart the global hallyu mania, Sin Chew Daily reported.

In 2009 she married businessma­n Jeong Ho-yeong, with whom she had a pair of twins. Lee, 47, attributed their separation to personalit­y difference­s.

Since her marriage, the actress had stayed largely out of the spotlight bubut made a return last year in the TV series Saimdan ng, Memoir Of Colours. .

Apparently, the pregnant manager had gone to bed early that night.

She went to work the following day and was shocked to find out that she had been fired without even her remaining salary paid to her.

Eventually, she was compensate­d 18,000 yuan (RM10,876) under labour laws, which stated that workers have the right to rest on their off days.

He uploaded two videos on Facebook last Sunday with a note saying: “Mission to save the world. Leave it to me!”

In the video, he was seen attired in the popular Japanese character and striking its trademark pose.

His fans were thrilled, commending him for his sense of humour.
