Road bully who attacked couple remanded

BALIK PULAU: A road bully, who attacked a woman and damaged her car near the Queensbay Mall roundabout, has been remanded.

Magistrate Nur Azzuin Abdul Moati allowed a three-day remand order until tomorrow for police to detain the 30-year-old factory worker.

The man, clad in an orange lockup uniform, smiled as he left the courthouse.

A video clip of the road rage incident has gone viral.

Balik Pulau OCPD Supt A. Anbalagan was reported as saying on Tuesday that a man was driving with his wife and two children when they heard a honk from behind.

And that was when the road rage incident took place.

The road bully then alighted from his car and began scolding the driver and his wife.

The suspect then hit the car’s side mirror and a quarrel ensued.

The man grabbed two handphones belonging to the woman.

The suspect also pulled the woman’s hair and some of her fingers were swollen after the attack. Passers-by broke up the fight. The suspect was picked up in Teluk Kumbar at 12.15pm on Tuesday.

The case is being investigat­ed under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and causing damage and Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntaril­y causing hurt.
