ACTOR Sharnaaz Ahmad (pic) said the birth of his son in August had made him a mature person, reported Berita Harian.

The 33-year-old actor said Jebat Jayden Ahmad brought about changes in his personality.

“Before this, I did not even like children that much but that view changed after Jebat was born,” he said, adding that his love for his son grew daily.

Sharnaaz admitted that in the beginning he felt strange being a father.

“Now, I miss him whenever I am out at work,” he said.

He and his wife Noor Nabila Mohd Noor take turns staying up at night to care for Jebat.

> A woman, believed to be mentally-ill, has been living alone in a house filled with piles of trash and her own excrement for more than 10 years, reported Harian Metro.

Wan Hafsah Che Wan, 39, has been living in the house at Kampung Bendang Pak Yong in Tumpat, Kelantan, since her adoptive parents died about 15 years ago.

A neighbour, Che Umar@Musa Isa, 68, said Wan Hafsah was adopted at birth by the couple from Narathiwat, Thailand.

He said neighbours were worried about Wan Hafsah’s safety as she liked to walk around, even as far as Pengkalan Kubor, some 5km away.

“There have been times when she is out of the house half-naked,” he said, adding that during her daily walks, she would take breaks to eat food given by Good Samaritans.

Che Umar said neighbours would also visit her to give her a bath.

The Welfare Department is unable to assist her as she does not hold permanent resident status despite having lived in the country since her birth.
