Sit admitted she was concerned about the age gap and her failed marriage previously.

She said she did not want to experience the pain of losing a loved one again.

The Virtues of Harmony actress tried telling her boyfriend to marry and have children with someone else.

But he won her over when he rushed to catch a flight to Hong Kong when she had a knee infection.

The gesture touched her and Sit now believes that age is no barrier to love.

Sit’s eldest daughter said that her mother was happier these days and hoped that the media would respect the couple and give them space and freedom.

> A woman who sells “S hook” via Facebook live has become Singapore’s latest favourite Ah Lian (derogatory term for Chinese-speaking, uneducated, younger female with poor, usually loud, fashion taste and uncouth manners), China Press reported.

Lerine Yeo, 30, shot to fame when someone shared a three-and-a-half- minute video of her selling the hooks, which are used to hang everyday items such as umbrellas and bags.

The funny video that featured Yeo’s over-the-top demo on how to use the hooks had more than two million views and 33,000 shares.

Viewers were entertained by her “Singlish” (a mixture of English, Mandarin and Hokkien dialects) along with the mispronunciation of a few English words.

However, her popularity led to countless memes and even copycat shops that sprang up on Facebook.

She had made a police report as her picture and business tagline were also used on an anonymous Facebook page.
