Sister quits job to help see Saiful to victory

-

PORT DICKSON: Always wearing a broad smile, Saidati Azlan has been cutting a lone figure, distributing flyers with her brother Mohd Saiful Bukhari on his campaign rounds.

The 29-year-old acts as his media liaison and provides regular updates on his movements.

“So far, it’s been a great experience. Honestly, it has been quite smooth,” she said at the Bagan Pinang pasar tani yesterday.

Saidati said she quit her job to help Saiful, her only sibling.

Asked if Saiful, 33, received brickbats from detractors while on his rounds, Saidati said she did not want to talk about it.

“People have been sweet. That is all I can say,” she added.

Asked how she rated her brother’s chances of winning, Saidati replied: “Good.”

Saiful claimed most people he met were generally upset that the by-election was being held so soon after the general election.

“They are frustrated ... basically most told me they are not going to vote. But I appealed to them to exercise their constitutional right and vote,” he said.

Saiful said the feedback from other constituents was positive.

“I get positive vibes when I meet them. That motivates me to work even harder to achieve my goal of winning,” he added.

Saiful also thanked those who contributed to his fund.

“We managed to raise RM555 in five hours,” he added.
