Isn’t it ironic that a shoplifter can face up to 10 years’ jail while a babysitter who caused the death of an innocent child is sentenced to just 18 months in jail?

I refer to Siti Kassim’s “What to do with religious education” (Sunday Star, Sept 30). Siti, you are brave to say what our politicians dare not and do not want to say for political expediency. Keep speaking up, Siti. I believe you have the support of those who really love and understand the religion. – Janq

> Swarmed by flies

If you stop at the Sungai Bakap rest area going north, you will see the table tops there covered with flies. The food operators say it’s because of a chicken farm in the area. The toilets maintained by PLUS are okay. – A. M. Noran
