A LORRY driver who drove against traffic along the North-South Expressway on Sunday had 64 summonses and 36 warrants of arrest to his name, said Hulu Langat OCPD Supt Lim Bak Phai in a Sinar Harian report.

The summonses and warrants came to light after the three-ton lorry driver was arrested for driving 3km against traffic and crashing into a trailer at KM432 of the highway.

He said the trailer driver, a 48-year-old, was heading to Kuala Lumpur from Ipoh when he saw the lorry coming head-on, but failed to avoid it.

Both drivers were unhurt in the accident. “The 37-year-old suspect does not have a driving licence. However, he has 64 unsettled summonses apart from the 36 warrants of arrests and 15 court cases,” Supt Lim said.

Supt Lim added that the suspect was brought to the Kuala Kubu police station and remanded.

> Popular local television presenter Sherry Al Hadad, 33, was criticised for not being “pretty” when she first joined the local entertainment industry, reported Harian Metro.

“People asked why they didn’t choose a more attractive presenter. They also criticised my physical size,” she added.

Sherry said she chose not to retaliate and merely smiled when she heard the remarks.

“Thank God, things started changing gradually. Over time, people began to believe in my talent and many started liking me,” she added.

Sherry, whose real name is Shariffah Mariam Syed Abdullah Al Hadad, caught attention after making a brief appearance as a presenter during the Anugerah Skrin 2013.

Sherry is also set to appear in the film Gol & Gincu Volume 2 and the Sherry Show programme.
